Central Railways Nagpur division on Tuesday signed an agreement to this effect with ALL. This is the fourth GCT in the division. The other three include MP Birla Cement at Mukutban, MMLP at Sindi, and JSW Steel Limited at Kalmeshwar. Indian Railways develops and implements multi-modal cargo terminals at various locations across the country.
These terminals are envisaged to become world-class logistics aggregation and disaggregation points for various forms of cargo across different modes within a single facility.
“The MoU will spearhead a remarkable growth for Nagpur. GCT will enhance the logistics business and generate more revenue for contributing to the nation’s economy. The terminal will be run by the railways,” said Aman Mittal, senior divisional manager.
