The Network Planning Group (NPG), under the PM GatiShakti initiative, is evaluating construction of a 36.35 km Broad Gauge (BG) double line connecting Gothangam to Hazira port in Gujarat. This project aims to boost section capacity and create broader connectivity for major industries shipping through Hazira Port, a key cargo hub.
The rail project will drive the transformation of mode from road to rail, reducing pollution and improving capacity for movement of both bulk and containerized cargo.
