August 25, 2020: Central Railway’s Kisan rail has been a hit with farmers across Maharashtra, increasing their revenues. The railways has announced that frequency of kisan rail will be increased from weekly to bi-weekly. The rail is offering better price to farmers with cheap and faster transportation of their produce, ensuring seamless supplychain.
On its third trip from Devlali to Muzaffarpur, Kisan rail carried 235 tonnes of goods which included Pomegranate, Lemon, Cauliflower, fish, Mixed vegetables, chillies, capsicum, ginger, onions and garlic.
