According to UAE authorities speaking at the conclusion of the third edition of the LOGIX India event in Dubai, the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) inked by the UAE and India will be operational within one month. The UAE-India CEPA will streamline customs procedures, lower logistical costs, and expand professional services prospects. “CEPA will enhance the UAE’s logistics sector, which contributes more than 14 percent to Dubai’s GDP,” NAFL President Nadia Abdul Aziz said. With CEPA in place, Indian products can gain access to the UAE market, from which they can expand into the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), Africa, and beyond.” The director-general of Dubai Customs and the CEO of the Ports, Customs, and Free Zone Corporation, Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, said: “CEPA will pave the way for a new era of joint economic growth and prosperity in the two countries, improve mutual access to markets, enhance economic and investment opportunities, and pave the way for broader prospects.”
