In order to cater to the export needs of the ceramic industry, Gautam Adani promoted, Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) is building a “Ceramic Park” at Mundra in Kutch district of Gujarat. The company recently signed MoUs worth about Rs 500 crore with ceramic units and their associations for setting up the first units at this park that is being built on the ‘plug-and-play’ model.

These MoUs were signed in presence of Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Vijay Rupani at the three-day “Vibrant Gujarat Ceramic Expo & Summit 2016” organised by the Morbi Ceramics Associations.

A representative from APSEZ said that the “ceramic park is built on a plug-and-play format where every service including natural gas, water, power and land is made available to ceramic firms planning to set up a unit at Mundra.

The ceramic players who signed the MoUs with APSEZ include Italica Flooring, Gravity Group, Sun Ceramics, Metro Group and Morbi Ceramics Association. “These MoUs will entail an estimated investment of about Rs 500 crore. This will help tiles and ceramic industry from Morbi expand,” said Nilesh Jetpariya Joint-President of Morbi Ceramics Associations.

Apart from the MoUs signed by the Adani Group, there were 10 other “strategic MoUs” that were signed at the event. This includes MoUs signed by Morbi Ceramics Association with Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry,

Ministry of Interior Affairs and Decentralization- Government of Madagascar, Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Indo-Latvian Chamber of Commerce and European Asian Chamber of Commerce.
