Chennai Port unloads record volumes of rock phosphate

Chennai Port set an all-time high unloading record of 23,220 tonnes of rock phosphate.

On April 7, 2022, Chennai Port set an all-time high unloading record of 23,220 tonnes of rock phosphate in a single day, at Jawahar Dock 2 on the vessel m.v. IVS RAFFLES. Earlier, on March 4, 2018, the port had set a record by unloading 21,050 tonnes from the m.v. BULKTEC. According to a press release, Mr Sunil Paliwal, IAS, Chairman of the Chennai Port Authority, praised the synergy displayed by the vessel agent Seatrans Marine Pvt. Ltd, stevedore Seagreen Stevedoring and Logistics Pvt. Ltd, importer Coromandel International Ltd, and port officials for this accomplishment.
