China Harbour Engineering Company has said that it would invest $1.2 Billion in the Colombo Port City.
The announcement came following a meeting between Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Ali Sabry and President of CHEC Bai Yinzhan in Beijing.
The Sri Lankan Embassy in China said that the CHEC would commence its investments with the International Financial Center.
At the same time, the Exim Bank of China had assured support for Sri Lanka’s economic recovery and growth.
Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Ali Sabry called on the Chairman of the Exim Bank of China and discussed the ongoing debt restructuring process.
Minister Ali Sabry also met with the Chairman of SINOPEC Ma Yongsheng in Tianjin, where the latter had expressed its confidence in its investments in and partnership with Sri Lanka.
