Chittagong Port Authority (CPA) has extended the waiver on the storage fees till May 16.
This is for the third time the importers are offered such a benefit in an effort to decongest the country’s premier maritime port. Fine will be imposed if importers do not take delivery of the containers by May 16, says CPA. The containers imported after March 25 will enjoy full exemption from payment of storage rent.
Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) urged the government to extend the waiver on storage rental at Chittagong port until May 16 amid the coronavirus pandemic in the country.
