[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]During 2015-16 the Port handled a Total traffic of 22.10 MMT. Traffic during 2016-17 is 25.01 MMT with the growth of 13.2%.
The Total no. of Containers handled during 2015-16 is 4.20 lakhs Teu’s and during 2016-17 is 4.91 lakhs TEUs with the growth of 17.0%.
Containers for the month of March, 2017 at 45,346 TEUs is an all time record at ICTT.
Total POL handled during 2015-16 is 13.77 MMT and during 2016-17 is 15.79 MMT.
Coastal Car carriers have started calling at Cochin Port from September 2016 onwards
The Port has offered 80% rebates in Port charges towards attracting the business. This arrangement ultimately benefits the end user a minimum of Rs.3000/-.
The total No. of Cruise vessels that called at the Port during 2015-16 is 33 and during 2016-17 is 46.
The Port could attract Wheat Vessels during the current year and handled 1.74 lakhs Tonnes during 2016-2017.
Ongoing Projects:-
1) Construction of Subway & ROB:- Port has taken up conversion of 2nd GIDA bridge as and ROB and construction of a fly over in front of exit gate of ICTT to decongest the area at a cost of Rs.60 cr. The work will be completed by June, 2017.
2) Refurbishment of Coastal Liquid berth:- Port has completed refurbishment of Cochin Oil Terminal. Refurbishment of North Tanker berth would be taken up during September, 2017. Estimated cost of the project is Rs.19.95cr.
3) Installation of rooftop Solar Panels:- work has been awarded for instillation of Roof top solar panels at a capacity of 0.15MW.
4) Combating Pollution:- work order has been issued for procurement of oil Spill Response Equipments at a total cost of Rs.3.96cr.
5) Multi User liquid Terminal is being developed jointly with IOC with a capacity of 4.10MMTPA at Puthuvypeen. Estimated cost of the project is Rs.240cr.
6) Barge Jetty for handling of Bunkers is being taken up at a cost of Rs.34.57cr.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
