The new boat will also be an electric hybrid in nature and would be the 13th vessel with a capacity of 100 pax being built by CSL for Kochi Water Metro. Currently KWML operates Water Metro services on High Court-Vypeen, High Court-Bolgatty and Vyttila-Kakkanad routes using 12 boats.

Designed to provide efficient, eco-friendly, and convenient transportation for commuters through waterways in Kerala, the electric hybrid Water Metro boat is a state-of-the-art vessel. The ferry is equipped with a technology, ensuring reduced emissions and minimized environmental impact.

It is expected that the availability of more boats would help KWML start boat services on new routes. KWML is planning to start services on new routes between High Court and South Chittoor in the coming weeks. Earlier KMRL authorities had said that they need at least three more boats to start service in South Chittoor sector.
