In the first quarter of 2024, the transhipment hub in Sri Lanka has emerged as the fastest growing port in the world, posting a growth rate of 23.6%, informs Alphaliner. The port has enabled Sri Lanka Port Authority in generating revenues to the tune of $50 million during the said period. In the past year the port had earned $100 million.
In addition to the ports sector, aviation services in the country have also increased by 25% during Q1 of FY24, compared to the same period last year.
