Mr Sanjay Swarup, Director (International Marketing and Operations), CONCOR, visited Ahmedabad to meet the trade, at ICD Khodiyar, where more than 50 CHAs/shipping lines were present to interact with him on July 18, 2019, as per a release.

Mr Madhukar Roat, CGM/NWR, welcomed the Director and trade members and opened the house for discussion/suggestions on difficulties in operations, requirements and scope for improvement, etc. Mr Harbhajan, on behalf of ACHAA, submitted a memorandum of various needs and suggestions to CONCOR, which included installation of scanner, additional warehouses, packing and distribution facility, additional weighbridge, e-invoicing, a multi-vendor system in transport and container repair, etc.

Mr Swarup informed the trade about the many actions being taken by CONCOR to cater to their requirements. He stressed that efforts will be made to reduce the pendency of containers by introducing more trains for Mundra and Pipavav, which will facilitate the instant departure of export boxes to port within 12-24 hours of the booking.

He gave a patient hearing to the trade regarding their concerns and appreciated them patronising the ICD since inception. It has been proposed to form an ICD level committee comprising members from CHAs, shipping lines and CONCOR to frequently discuss and bring about improvements in day-to-day operations, the release said.

Mr Roat emphasised that CONCOR constantly endeavours to maintain its commitment towards service levels. He added that it is ready to take the service to the next level and sought suggestions from customers regarding areas of improvement and strategic actions to boost the service bouquet.

The CONCOR team also planted around 250 trees as part of a plantation drive in the adjoining newly developed warehousing zone comprising a rail siding for domestic logistics, packaging and distribution, and other ancillary services, the release added.
