Multi Model Logistic Park developed by Container Corporation of India (CONCOR) near International Airport, in the Vizag city with an investment of Rs 500 crore began its first commercial operations on Saturday.
Divisional Railway Manager, Chandralekha Mukherjee flagged off a container train to Vedanta Alumina plant at Brundamal, Odisha from CONCOR’s MMLP.
In her address to the large gathering, she said that it was first of its kind in Andhra Pradesh and urged trade and commerce bodies to use the railway siding from MMLP and its facilities to reduce their logistics and inventory costs.
The flagging off of the first train took in presence of General Manager of CONCOR, M Yelvender Yadav and other senior officials.
The logistic park was developed in an area of 108 acres with an estimated cost of Rs 500 crore. It has warehouse and other state-of-art handling facilities.
