[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]India and Bangladesh are planning the trial run of a container train between Kolkata and Dhaka in August. The aim is to ascertain whether a service can be run on commercial basis.

It is proposed that a full rake of empty containers will go through the connection between Gede in India and Darshana in Bangladesh, the only broad gauge line between the two countries. Gede is the last station and border checkpoint on the way to Bangladesh in Krishnaganj CD Block in Nadia district of West Bengal. The corresponding station on the Bangladesh side is Darshana. Bangladesh will send the rake back with export cargo.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
