Q How has been the business performance in the past year? Which of your business segments appear to be more promising?
Apollo LogiSolutions Ltd is engaged in the business of offering complete and comprehensive logistics services relating to CFS, ICD, freight forwarding, custom brokerage, 3PL, warehousing and allied services. We have been growing at CAGR 35-40 per cent in the last 4 years. With a total employee strength of over 1000 and growing, 1.3 Mn sq. ft of warehousing space and a geographic reach that touches over 100 countries across Europe, Middle East and Africa and Asia Pacific, ALS is the one to watch in the integrated logistics space.
Q Tell us about the hinterland being served by Kashipur Infrastructure & Freight Terminals? Kashipur Infrastructure & Freight Terminals is the only Private Freight Terminal that serves the 60 kms radius in and around the Kashipur. We are going to service 50-80 customers in the region through KIFTPL. Also, it is through this Freight Terminal that the industrial belts of Rudrapur, Haldwani and Pantnagar in the hinterland are being connected to domestic and EXIM trade.
Q How has been the business at the CFSs in Panvel and Chennai in the past year? Which hinterlands do they serve? What are your plans for the upcoming CFS at Kattupalli and Moradabad?
We have a CFS in Panvel that has a Capacity of 120,000 TEUs p.a and our CFS in Chennai has a capacity of 60,000 TEUs p.a. It was in Aug-16 that we commissioned Kashipur ICD with 3 rail sidings and a capacity to handle 100,000 TEUs p.a. By Jun end we have commissioned two CFSs: Tuticorin with a capacity 60,000 TEUs p.a. Kattupally with a Capacity of 50,000 TEUs p.a. Currently, we have 3 operational dry ports (Panvel, Chennai and Kashipur) having a combined capacity to handle 300K TEUs p.a.
2 Dry Ports (Tuticorin and Kattupally) are ready and will commence operations shortly subject to necessary regulatory approvals.
In future, we plan to build 2 additional dryports. Overall, 8 Dry Ports will have combined capacity to handle close to 600k TEUs p.a.
Q With the government pushing for direct port delivery, what will be the survival strategy for CFSs in the future? We aim to go a step further than just operating CFS’. Our efforts are towards providing value added services to our customers by scaling up our CFSs into logistics parks. We believe that the future of CFS’ lie in enhancing the infrastructure and facilities that are available with us and convert them into Logistics parks. This not only means a more strategic approach to the way logistics works in India, but also means lower costs and a more streamlined effective supply chain operations.
Q Tell us about your logistics operations on the east of India?
We have a number of warehouses across the eastern region of India and dryports on the eastern coast. We also provide integrated logistics services for our automotive, industrial and electronic clients across the eastern coast, including north east region.
