July 15, 2020: Barely days after sending the first parcel train to Bangladesh, now another freight route through the sea has been opened. A vessel will sail from Kolkata to Chittagong and the cargo will be transported via road from Chittagong to Agartala. This trial run will open the way for movement of goods from any Indian port to Northeastern states via Bangladesh. The vessel will take 3 days from Kolkata to reach Chittagong Port and from there one day by road to reach Agartala.
