GatewayRail, a leading private container train operator with Category 1 licence, flagged off another block train carrying 90 TEUs of Maersk Line from ICD-Sahnewal to Pipavav Port. The movement was carried out with focus on connecting the consignee’s containers to the target vessel schedule.
The movement was a collaborative effort of GatewayRail, Maersk Line and Khanna Paper Mills Ltd to create a unique value proposition for GatewayRail’s valued customers by ensuring connection of the containers to the scheduled vessel. Maersk Line is the world’s largest container shipping company, Khanna Paper is the largest single-location paper plant in the country and one of the largest manufacturers of paper and paper board in Punjab, while GatewayRail is a pioneer in providing customised dedicated train services in both import and export directions tailored to the needs of its customers. It runs a number of scheduled dedicated train services for its major customers.
At a ceremony organised by GatewayRail, the train carrying 90 export-laden TEUs was flagged off from ICD-Sahnewal. The occasion was graced by Mr Akshyat Bhatia, Mr Sankha Banerjee, Mr Tarun Joshi along with their local team members from Maersk Line, and Major (Retd) Jyoti Joshi Mitter, Mr Kumar Gaurav Batra, Mr Hitesh Vij, Mr Puneet Sharma along with their Ludhiana team members from Khanna Paper Mills. The GatewayRail team, led by Mr Rajeev Sharma, Head-Exim Sales and Mr Chandrashekhar Sharma, Head-Operations was also present on the occasion along with other team members.
