Exporters to directly receive duty drawbacks into their accounts

In a major step to facilitate trade with paperless Customs process, CBIC will be directly crediting duty drawback amounts to the accounts of exporters.

The Public Finance Management System (PFMS) will automatically handle the process revealed Finance Ministry.

This new functionality will significantly reduce the time taken in making the payments of drawback amount as it eliminates manual intervention in the drawback distribution process and increases transparency.

Earlier, the Customs Automated System (CAS), enumerated in a scroll used to process the duty drawback claims. The Computerised Customs Drawback Advice (CCDA) along with supporting single cheque of consolidated amount was printed and transferred to the Authorised Bank branch for payment of duty drawback amounts into the exporters’ accounts. This tedious process caused time delay.

In a separate development, CBIC Chairperson inaugurated GST Bhawan at Rohtak, Haryana

Located at one of the most preferred locations in Rohtak, the project sits at the hub of connectivity to major districts of Haryana and has easy and quick access to facilitate GST Taxpayers. It is also located at a distance of about 3 km from Rohtak Bus stand.
