A consortium of China Huanqin Contracting and Engineering Corporation, LEPL Ventures Private Limited and Isomeric Holdings (Malaysia) will build Rs 10,183 crore gas-based fertiliser plant at Krishnapatnam. An agreement to this effect was signed during Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s recent visit to China to mobilise investments for the state.

Vijayawada-based LEPL Ventures and Isomeric Holdings already have a joint venture in place to set up a regasification and storage terminal at Krishnapatnam Port. The terminal has 5 million tonnes per annum capacity. Experts believe the terminal can supply gas for the planned fertiliser plant at Krishnapatnam.

To attract investors, the Andhra Pradesh government is setting up a Chinese investment centre in about 10,000 acres in which China’s small and medium enterprises will set up plants to produce construction materials, said Chandrababu Naidu.
