The 23 Biennial Convention of the Federation of Freight Forwarders’ Associations in India (FFFAI), whichis being held from January 19 to 21, 2017, at Crowne Plaza Hotel, Cochin in Kerala, would witness morethan 400 delegates from across the country. In addition, a significant number of international delegatesfrom Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Singapore, UAE and some other countries will also be attendingthe Convention. Meanwhile, FFFAI has received tremendous responses from its members for thisconvention, which is happening after more than a decade time in the southern part of India. Forfacilitating early registrations FFFAI announced ‘Super Early Bird’ and ‘Early Bird’ Registration schemesto benefit the delegates. While ‘Super Early Bird’ registration was closed on November 30, 2016, ‘EarlyBird’ registration will be closed on December 31 and the convention registration will be closed onJanuary 15, 2017. With the theme “Indian Customs Broker-Trusted Single Entity Logistician-Capable and Dynamic”, theconvention will discuss several pressing issues in seven business sessions. The topics include “GST -What to Accept and How to Adapt”; “Future of Logistics Services – Survival in Digital and Liberalised Era-Adapting to Digital and Cashless”; “Ladies Session – Assuring Gender Equalisation in Logistics the Way Forward”; “The Future of Customs Clearance in India”; “Freight Forwarding and Customs Brokerage Worldwide”; “Technology and Skilling – Innovations Required for Survival” and “Family Business -Induction, Continuation & Corportization”. There will be a specific focus on international market trends,economic developments in India and fast changing policies & compliances. Topics will be discussed by domain experts both from India and other countries.
“FFFAI is fully capable in delivering what the industry desperately desire from an association. And, that isthe reason FFFAI is having 27 member associations and more than 6000 members, and expanding. In addition, the organisations which are directly or indirectly connected with freight forwarding, shipping and commerce are also associated with FFFAI. We are very bullish about the outcome of FFFAI’s Biennial Convention in Cochin for the benefit of the freight forwarding/logistics industry and the country’s economy at large,” said Mr Amit Kamat, Honorary Secretary, FFFAI, while commenting on the importance of FFFAI and its biennial convention.
