The 23rd Biennial Convention of the Federation of Freight Forwarders’ Associations in India (FFFAI) has been scheduled to take place from January 19-21, 2017 at Crowne Plaza Hotel, Kochi (Cochin). The theme of the Convention, as was in the previous Conventions, will be relevant to prevailing scenario of global business as well as logistics Industry. FFFAI will also organise the ‘FIATA World Congress 2018’ from September 24-29, 2018 in New Delhi.
At FFFAI Convention in Kochi there will be delegates from wide spectrum of logistics industry, across India. “According to the previous experiences, most of them would register as resident delegates with over 40 percent attending along with their families,” said Mr Samir Shah, Chairman, FFFAI. The last convention held in Mumbai in 2015 witnessed participation of more than 400 delegates. “The FFFAI Convention 2017 will also be attended by overseas delegates including a Malaysian delegation,” informed Mr Shah. It is worth mentioning that FIATA World Congress 2017 and 2018 will be hosted in Malaysia and India respectively.
The FFFAI Biennial Convention 2017 will have two full day interactive business sessions on various topics pertaining to logistics Industry and allied. “The speakers would be eminent leaders in their respective fields with rich experience and domain knowledge to represent a wide range of Logistics Industry and Government Departments,” underlined the FFFAI Chairman.
Like previous Conventions, FFFAI would organize a Mini Trade Fair on the sidelines of the Convention. Here stakeholders will have an opportunity to showcase their products & services to the Delegate and Dignitaries.

The FFFAI Convention offers the trade and industry extensive sponsorship opportunities to showcase their products, services and capabilities amongst decision makers and prospective customers. More than twenty five sponsors have participated in the last convention. Value added benefits like complimentary stalls, rooms, and registrations are offered to sponsors depending on the category of Sponsorship.
In addition, to commemorate the occasion, a souvenir will be released at the Convention. Articles and interviews of industry leaders will be published in this souvenir. Like previous years, the souvenirs will be widely circulated amongst logistics industry, allied trade, commerce associations and Government departments. The advertisement in this souvenir would give an excellent opportunity for advertisers to reach out to a cross section of the industry with least effort at an affordable price.

FIATA World Congress 2017 and 2018
The forthcoming FIATA World Congress in 2017 will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 4th to 8th October 2017. FFFAI urges members of the Indian Logistics Community to participate in large numbers as a part of the Indian Delegation for the FIATA World Congress 2017 Kuala Lumpur, to showcase the prowess of the Indian Logistics Community.

Strong delegation from FFFAI to FIATA World Congress 2016 in Dublin
On the occasion of FIATA’s 90th birthday, FIATA held its 2016 World Congress in Dublin, Ireland. Hosted by the Irish International Freight Association (IIFA) working closely with FIATA, this congress presented a new format and welcomed an array of high profile speakers to discuss the key issues of the industry, with a strong accent on innovation. During the Congress FIATA and IATA signed the new air cargo cooperation agreement and likewise FIATA and Organisation for Cooperation between Railways (OSJD) signed a Memorandum of Agreement. Other agreements at government level were also prominently featured and attracted global and regional attention.
The event facilitated serious networking opportunities for delegates and a significant number of technology vendors in the exhibition hall. At this Congress FFFAI was represented by a strong Indian delegation consisting of Mr. Debashis Dutta, Mr. Amit Kamat, Mr. Sailesh Bhatia, Mr. VipinVohra, Mr. Alan Jose, Mr. Tej Contractor and Mr. Samir Patel. The delegation had discussions with TT Club who are one of the major insurers of transit cargo and who regularly sponsor the Young Freight Forwarders Award of FIATA and are also sponsors of the delegate kits during the FIATA World Congresses since last many years. The delegation also had discussions with ITE, which is one of the prominent exhibition organizers globally, organizing more than 30 events in India annually across all segments.
