The Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) has elected Mr Sharad Kumar Saraf as its new President. The Chairman and Founder of Technocraft Industries (India) Ltd, Mr Saraf, in his earlier stints in FIEO, served twice as Vice-President and 4 times as Regional Chairman (WR), informed a release.
Both Alumni and Member of the Governing Board of IIT Bombay, Mr Saraf is a member of 5 different Export Promotion Councils, having experience of multiple business segments. With expertise and experience of well over 4 decades in foreign trade, he is also Member, Managing Committee of Texprocil, Cotton Association of India and Confederation of Indian Textile Industry.
A staunch votary of exporters’ issues, it was during Mr Saraf’s tenure as Vice-President and Regional Chairman (WR) that FIEO established the Indian Exporters Grievance Forum for addressing exporters’ grievances through legal channels. Besides, he also played a pivotal role in obtaining path-breaking judgments in cases of 80 HHC, Service Tax, Target Plus Scheme, Incremental Export Incentivisation Scheme (IEIS), etc.
Also a founder of Export Promotion Council for EOUs and SEZs, Mr Saraf, earlier in FIEO, started innovative marketing initiatives by establishing distribution centres in several countries, and helped in the formulation of various export promotion policies on EOUs, SEZs, Advance Licences and other schemes, the release said.
