The Numaligarh Refinery Expansion Project reached a significant milestone with the arrival of the first Over Dimensional Cargo (ODC) consignment at Pandu Port on April 12, 2023.
The DHT Reactor, weighing a massive 521 tonnes, was transported over 1400 km through the Sunderbans and the Indo Bangladesh Protocol Route with the support of the Inland Waterways Authority of India, via National Waterway 2.
The cargo is en route to Silghat, and will then be transported further along the Dhansiri river to the NRL jetty near the Project Site in Numaligarh.
This marks the initiation of a landmark ODC logistics project in National Waterway 2, showcasing the collaborative efforts of the government and private sector towards promoting economic development in the Northeastern region of India.
