Two bonded trucks transported 21 tonnes of cargo from Coimbatore to Mumbai. Engineering items (14 tonnes and seven tonnes), passed by Customs, were shipped to Nhava Sheva Mumbai from the Inland Container Depot (ICD), Irugur, according to a Container Corporation of India (Concor) official. The freight was handled by Joveens Logistics and Services, a Concor contractor. “Given the current business situation and logistics challenges, exporters will profit from bonded truckload service to Mumbai,” the official stated.
While bonded trucks are commonly used to transport cargo from this region to the ports of Chennai, Kochi, and Thoothukudi, this is the first such shipment to the Mumbai port. Because of the container shortage, trade is having a lot of problems. Many small exporters are experiencing delays as a result of congestion at ports such as Colombo. Nearly 40 countries have direct mother vessel connections through Mumbai port. As a result, exporters will save time and money by shipping their goods to Mumbai via bonded trucks. Concor has used this service to book consignments for the following two weeks.
