Five carriers launching North China-West India service

A new weekly North China-West India service, called China West India Express (CWI), will be soon launched by five global carriers—Hyundai Merchant Marine (HMM), Shipping Corporation of India (SCI), CMA CGM, Pendulum Express Lines (PEL) and Korea Marine Transport Co. (KMTC).

The service provides a port rotation of: Tianjin, Qingdao, Ningbo, Singapore, Port Klang, Nhava Sheva, Mundra, Hazira, Colombo, Port Klang, Singapore, Tianjin. It operates with 6 x 4,600-TEU vessels (HMM x 2, CMA CGM x 1, KMTC x 1, PEL x 1, SCI x 1).

The first southbound sailing from Tianjin is scheduled for June 25, 2017.

HMM said in a release: “With this new direct premium service from North China to West India, HMM will provide a stable service to customers and strengthen its position in the Far East/West India market.”
