Before the cyclone gained strength at the port area, there were about 19 ships unloading their cargo at the port. Due to severe weather conditions these ships were sent back to the high seas and are now being called back. Even at present, the sea is in a rough condition, but the port pilots are bringing back the ships to the port one by one.

Additionally, 49 open cargo ships were also stationed in the high sea, halting unloading operations at the outer anchorage. Delivery of containers from the port yard has also resumed services. The Chittagong Port Authority has informed that 45 bulk carriers that were sent back to the deep sea from the outer anchorage have been brought back to the outer anchorage.
