FOUNDATION STONE LAID FOR NAVY BASE WORKSHOP IN GOA

In a mutual exchange, the Ministry of Defence, Government of India, has agreed for exchange of 3874 Sq. mtrs. of defence land at Baina Workshop, Vasco da Gama, on equal quantum of MPT  land  at Bogda, Vasco,  on equitable cost basis and has further granted permission to MPT to utilise the defence land for construction of flyover from the Ravindra Bhavan at Baina, Vasco,  to Gate No.9, of Mormugao Port by the  NHAI.

The Foundation stone laying ceremony  for construction of the Navy Base Workshop was held on 6th December 2017, at the hands of the Rear Admiral, Puneet K. Bahl, VSM, FOGA, Goa Naval Area, in the distinguished  presence of Shri G. P. Rai, Dy. Chairman MPT, senior executives of the port administration  and the Naval Officers.
The overall cost of shifting the Navy Base Workshop to the new location at Bogda is estimated to be Rs. 4.50 crores. Now, the contract  for construction of the Navy Base Workshop structure with all allied facilities has been awarded to M/s. Abhiyant Realty, Panjim, at a cost of Rs. 3.23 crores, to be completed within a period of 12 months.
