The first ship to arrive under the Gemini Cooperation agreement has been welcomed by DP World Southampton. As part of its first rotation on the Gemini Transatlantic AL1/AT3 service, the MV Leonidio arrived at the Southampton logistics hub on February 3. Before sailing across the Atlantic to dock in New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Saint John in the United States and Canada, the ship will make stops at the ports of Rotterdam, Hamburg, and Wilhelmshaven in Northern Europe.

In January 2024, Maersk and Hapag-Lloyd announced the Gemini Cooperation, which aims to increase the efficiency of the global supply chain by implementing a hub and spoke network design, reducing the number of ports calls in mainliner services, and strengthening the dependability of their East-West shipping networks. Gemini will now manage all of its Middle East-Europe and Asia-Europe services at London Gateway, together with its Trans-Atlantic services in Southampton, as part of its partnership with DP World. In the upcoming weeks, the first Gemini ship traveling from Asia to Europe will dock at London Gateway.
