Ghaziabad to get orbital rail connecting Haryana, Noida, Greater Noida

The orbital rail project will span 270 kilometers, with 90 kilometers running through Uttar Pradesh. It will feature stations every five kilometers, covering broader areas in UP and Haryana that the expressways bypass.

As per the National Capital Region (NCR) Planning Board’s 2041 regional plan, the Ghaziabad Development Authority has been appointed as the nodal agency for the rail project which will merge with the rapid rail corridor near Duhai enabling seamless passenger and freight movement across NCR cities like Ghaziabad, Baghpat, Noida, and Greater Noida. The Haryana Rail Infrastructure Development Corporation (HRIDC) will be preparing the feasibility report, expected to be ready in six months.

The orbital rail project will span 270 kilometers, with 90 kilometers running through Uttar Pradesh. It will feature stations every five kilometers, covering broader areas in UP and Haryana that the expressways bypass. This new rail line aims to enhance logistical efficiency across the NCR region.
