GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd (GHIAL) plans to double its cargo handling capacity at Hyderabad. Its operational efficiency currently enables it to handle 150,000 tonnes of cargo annually, on a design capacity of 100,000 tonnes.
A senior official of GHIAL has been quoted as saying that with the new expansion, cargo capacity will double from 150,000 tonnes to 300,000 tonnes. New facilities are to be built on a 100-acre parcel adjacent to the GMR Aerospace and Industrial Park.
