Institute of Directors organized its 19th Annual World Congress on Environment Management at Hyderabad on 7th July. Theme of the two-day event was ‘Managing Environment & Climate Change – Transitioning to a Sustainable Economy’. Among others, APSEZ Mundra & Tuna Ports received Golden Peacock Awards for their environmental initiatives. Justice Kurian Joseph, Judge, Supreme Court of India was the chief guest at the summit. On this occasion, Ennarasu Karunesan, CEO, APSEZ Mundra & Tuna Ports said that the summit was a good initiative which brings together industry leaders to discuss and share knowledge about the global scenario on environment management. He also said that industrial houses not only contribute to national building but they also have a greater role to play in safety, security and wellness of people, and he expressed happiness that Adani Ports was a part of the summit. Speaking on Golden Peacock Awards, he said that it was a remarkable achievement to get the award as more than 1,500 participants had filed nominations for the coveted award.
