Initially only 5-7% stake will be privatised and the government is in discussions with financial institutions for the same. The government may also try options like offer for sale or qualified institutional placement (QIP) for the stake sale. As per government officials, the high land leasing fee and the low support from the Ministry of Railways has been dampening the response from potential buyers. The Government had originally planned to divest 30.8% of the 54.8% stake, along with the transfer of management control in CONCOR.

On a separate note, CONCOR has received 10,790 indigenously manufactured containers, supporting Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyaan and enhancing its service capacity. Total container holding stands strong at 46,893.
