Nitin Gadkari, the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, has inaugurated a number of national highway projects for a total of $2,871 in Haryana. The inauguration in Sonepat was also attended by Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and his deputy Dushyant Chautala. Gadkari told the crowd that four things are needed to carry out development work: water, power, transportation, and communication. “I will begin work on any project that the Haryana government requests. No one can argue I haven’t delivered what I promised because I know where money comes from,” he continued.

He announced to connect Delhi-Dehradhun national highway to Jind-Gohana, Sonepat and Shamli. “We will build a bus port in Sonepat after the Haryana government sends a project. Our government wants to start air taxis from Delhi to Panipat which costs ₹250 per person. In the next two years, we will construct many highways parallel to NH-44 to reduce the vehicular load,” Gadkari added.
