Hutchison Ports Sohar (formerly known commercially as Oman International Container Terminal) received an award in the category of ‘Best Merchants in Regions’ at the ‘12th Annual Partners in Progress’ Awards ceremony which was held in Muscat, Oman on 14 of March 2017. The award was received by Jose R. Varela, Chief Financial Officer of Hutchison Ports Sohar along with some special team members at the gala ceremony held in the Sheraton Oman Hotel, Muscat.
Partners in Progress awards is hosted by Bank Muscat to celebrate the success and honor the top clienteles of the bank for outstanding contribution to card business in 2016. Hutchison Ports Sohar maintains a strong banking relationship with Bank Muscat and appreciates the enhanced & innovative facilities that the bank provides.
Varela said: “Hutchison Ports Sohar is honoured and pleased to be recognized as a key partner in fostering the development of cutting-edge e-commerce tools in Oman. In order to further enhance our Customer Experience, e-billing and e-payment options are currently being developed. We will be looking to further partner with the Omani banking and financial community to make these options available to our customers”.
“To enhance the flow of goods and efficient payment methods, we are implementing an Electronic Payment Service that will allow customers to settle bills via ATM, debit cards or clickpay service. The e-payment system will also be integrated with the terminal’s auto-gate system, which will further enhance the payment procedures”, said Albert Pang, Chief Executive Officer.
The Electronic Payment Service by Hutchison Ports Sohar combined with Bank Muscat’s customized payment solutions will together contribute to Oman’s e-commerce growth. With employee commitment and cutting-edge technology, Hutchison Ports Sohar is also moving towards providing customers with Digitalization Solutions to enhance the ease of doing business.
