India may start export of loco, bogies in 5 years: Aswhini Vaishnaw

While addressing a meeting at ‘Hall of Fame’ of BLW on Saturday Vaishnaw highlighted the ongoing railways projects and expressed confidence in skills of his officers and employees. He said, “Today we are working fast on projects of high speed train, while equal focus is on improving the quality of the loco, passenger amenities and doubling the railway lines. Most of our railway stations will have look and facilities like airports.”

“Apart from improving skills of our technicians and engineers, we are also investing in railways to incorporate technology according to the current requirement,” said Vaishnaw adding, same developments are clearing that there will be no surprise when within next 5-6 years loco and bogie will be exported to different countries of Europe as well as the world. He also mentioned the example of telecom sector in this regard and said, “Today our technological advancement in telecom has developed to run one million calls simultaneously and in the next 2-3 years mobile services in other countries will start adopting India’s technology, which also be no surprise.”

BLW general manager Anjali Goyal, principal heads of departments, senior officers, staff Council, employees unions including OBC and SC-ST associations and all other participants showed enthusiasm to improve production, its quality and to work on new projects.

Vaishnaw had reached the city on Friday evening. Following night stay at BLW guest house he started his day with inspection of BLW’s manufacturing process of the 12000 HP locomotives and its features. He also assured for early approval of the proposal of Rs.7.5 crore for expansion of BLW Central Hospital. Later, Vaishnaw reached Banaras railway station and also inspected the stalls of `one station, one product’ at the platforms apart from facilities and passenger enmities. He held a meeting with general manager North Eastern Railway Ashok Kumar Mishra, GM Northern Railway Ashutosh Gangal, DRM NER Varanasi Ramahsraya Pandey and other officials at VIP lounge of this station.
