The event was organised in Birgunj. Key trade bodies that participated in the event include Bilateral Think Tank “India-Nepal Centre,” Gati Shakti Development Forum, the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FNCCI), Birgunj Chamber of Commerce & Industries (BICCI), Nepal-India Chamber of Commerce & Industry (NICCI) and Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC), PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI).

Key points highlighted by the dignitaries include:

  • Nepalese companies should be given priority while giving management custody of Integrated Check Post (ICP) and Inland Container Depot (ICD).
  • Providing Nepali trucks access to enter India and introducing high speed railways in Indian towns
  • Projects for open border and connectivity will particularly boost bilateral trade between the countries
  • Improvement in border infrastructure, enabling of rupee payment, signing of a letter of exchanges for bilateral rail service agreement, government-to-government agreement for supply of fertilizer from India to Nepal, and progress in bilateral power sector cooperation are likely to further boost bilateral trade.
