India Post, which operates the world’s largest delivery network, has entered into a partnership with Shiprocket, a logistics aggregator company, for enhancing its last-mile delivery services for various e-commerce products. On 17 March, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between India Post, Shiprocket and Pickrr at Dak Bhawan in New Delhi. During the event, Alok Sharma, Director General, Postal Services, senior officers of the Department of Posts, and representatives of Shiprocket and Pickrr were present.
Shiprocket (Bigfoot Retail Solutions) is an emerging logistics aggregator company which caters to three lakh sellers and 70 million consumers annually. The partnership between India Post, which is India’s government operated postal service, and Shiprocket will provide shipping and last-mile delivery services to Shiprocket’s three lakh strong seller base which includes startups and a large number of small and medium businesses. Millions of customers all over the country will benefit from India Post’s decision to venture into e-commerce business.

The IT systems of India Post and Shiprocket will be integrated to facilitate the partnership and provide better services to the customers.
