India’s 12 major ports experienced a 4.95% decline in cargo traffic in November 2024 compared to the same period in 2023. While JNPA, Nhava Sheva and Deendayal Port, Kandla registered growth, ports like New Mangalore and Mormugao faced significant declines. This overall decrease in cargo volume underscores the challenges faced by the Indian port sector.
