The Infra major may bag the deal to develop Murbe Port
The state government had floated a tender following the Swiss challenge method inviting bids for developing the port in Murbe, but failed to attract significant response. As the JSW Infra placed a suo moto proposal to develop the port with an investment of Rs.4259 Cr, it is very much likely to bag the deal for developing the port at a location 40km away from where Vadhavan Port is being developed. Murbe Port is planned to be built on a PPP basis, following the Design, Build, Own, Operate Transfer (DBOOT) model.
The port is connected to NH-8 through a four lane road located at a distance of around 20km. The port’s hinterland includes the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation, Tarapur Industrial Area, Valsad Industrial Area.
