JWL Cold Store commissions ‘Food Hub’ cold chain facility near JN Port

Continuing its growth story, JWL Cold Store Pvt. Ltd has inaugurated its brand new facility for world class cold chain solutions, at Padeghar, Panvel on June 20, 2017. The new facility is called the JWL Food Hub, a specially designed facility having 5,500 pallets storage capacity and temperature ranging from -25ºC to +25ºC. It is aimed at servicing the rapidly growing perishable food industry.

The new Food Hub is being commissioned keeping in mind the rise in demand of the sector. Taking its service commitment levels to newer heights, this facility has been designed to cater to specific needs of the perishable food industry. Specialised material handling equipment, imported fire-proof PUF panels and pollution-free ammonia-based cooling systems are some examples of the high standards that are followed by JWL.

JWL’s Food Hub has a unique advantage in terms of its location. Situated close to India’s largest port, JNPT, JWL becomes the most logical choice amongst the importers and exporters who are associated with JN Port. Also, the Food Hub has the facility of Bonded Cold Storage within its premises— which makes it a value proposition for all exim related activities.

Mumbai and Pune are large industrial regions where food/FMCG manufacturing takes place. Being close to these manufacturing hubs of Maharashtra, JWL has provided unique B2B solutions in both storage of perishables and distribution services.

A young company, JWL Cold Store Pvt. Ltd is a part of JW Group which was founded in 1986 by Mr Lalit C. Jobanputra. The JW Group has been a reputed player in the Indian logistics sector for over 3 decades. The other Group companies include JWC Logistics Park, JWR Logistics (both Container Freight Stations) and JWC 3PL Logistics Pvt. Ltd (general warehousing).

Over the years, the Group has significantly expanded its operations to provide a one-stop shop for a variety of logistics-related services besides creating value through development of logistics assets.

JWL Cold Store has 2 existing divisions, i.e. 1) FMCG Division with 7,000 pallet capacity, and 2) Pharmaceutical Division with 7,500 pallet capacity.

From 2014, JWL has expanded capacity from 6,800 pallets to 20,000 pallets, due to the huge demand for the value-based cold chain capability of JWL.

JWL aims to serve the food and pharmaceutical industries for which it has specially designed dedicated food and pharma hubs. Since JWL and its group companies are into different business models in logistics, they can offer complete end-to-end solutions to their partners.

JWL has exclusive facilities, each dedicated for food products and pharmaceutical products, both of which are FSSAI and FDA approved, ISO and GDP certified. JWL boasts of temperature ranges from -25ºC to +25ºC.

In its journey so far, JWL has created a strong partnership with its customers such as Ferrero India, CIPLA, Haagen-Dazs, Mondelez India, Dupont, etc., to name a few. By virtue of these partnerships, it has been able to inculcate the best practices in the pertaining industries into its DNA.

JWL’s cold chain facilities are built with Fire Rated (FM approved) panels. It uses specialised floor which is pharma and food grade approved. Its racking systems are customisable as per customers demand. JWL’s strength lies in its multi-temperature facilities. Each chamber can be maintained at +25ºC to -25ºC temperature depending upon the customer’s requirement.
