[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Kakinada Container Terminal achieved a significant milestone with the sailing of M.V. SENTOSA STAR V.1710E from Kakinada Port on July 11, 2017. The throughput achieved for this vessel was a record 1,018 TEUs. The vessel, which had berthed at 0045 hours on July 10, sailed from the port at 1745 hours on July 11, after an operation encompassing 500 import containers, 374 export boxes, 144 restows and hatch cover moves.

The vessel had sailed in from Colombo to discharge boxes and proceeded to Yangon with shipments of sugar from Kakinada. All the boxes handled were of BLPL Line. The operational team completed the planning of the vessel, factoring in the unpredictable rain, restows, etc., achieving an average productivity of 21.32 moves per hour.

M.V. SENTOSA STAR is operated by Orient Express Lines (OEL), which has facilitated the connectivity between Kakinada and Yangon. OEL also operates the scheduled service between Kakinada and Colombo[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
