Kakinada Port to have Petrochemical plant soon

The blue print for a one million ton Petro Chemical Plant near Kakinada Port has been prepared by the state owned Engineers India Limited. The one million ton ethylene derivatives Petro chemical plant is designed to make niche plastic products according to a spokesman of Engineers India Limited

The total cost of the project is estimated at Rs 30,000 crores. Efforts are on to arrange for long term supply of feedstock for the plant. The technical side of the project is almost ready and when the feedstock arrangment is finalysed the project will take off. Land acquisition is yet to be completed.

The plant is being jointly put up by the state owned Hindustan Petroleum Corporation and Gas authority of India, The Project is expecting final clearance from the Petroleum Ministry.
