With a depth of 18 metres and a combined length of 2,415 metres, this is Taiwan’s first fully automated container terminal. It has five deep-water container berths and is able to accommodate four 24,000teu super-large containerships at once.

Equipped with unmanned vehicles; remote control; IoT network, as well as 5G and Artificial Intelligence systems, the new terminal will significantly improve operation efficiency.

“Evergreen will combine the operation of the fourth and fifth container terminals and transfer part of them to the newly opened seventh terminal, which will greatly reduce carbon emission and improve container handling efficiency,” an Evergreen spokesperson commented.
