Karaikal Port extends relief to victims of Gaja Cyclone

With a commitment to develop and socially support the community in and around Karaikal, Karaikal Port Private Limited (KPPL) organized relief packages to the villages badly affected by the Gaja Cyclone.

Two truckloads of relief material worth Rs. 15 Lakhs which included Tarpaulin, Sarees, Dhothi, Bedsheets and Clothes for men, women and children were distributed to the affected villages. Employees of Karaikal Port directly visited several villages like Keelaiyur, Thaiyathopu, Achukattalai, Thiruvasal, Vanamahadevi and Vella Pallam of Nagapattinam district and distributed the packages.

More than 2000 families were benefitted through this relief activity.

The relief process was guided and supported by the Karaikal District Collector Mr. Kesavan, Nagapattinam District Collector Mr. Suresh Kumar, Ms. Devaki – Special Officer Centralized Relief materials camp Nagapattinam and CSR team of Karaikal port lead by Mr. Rajeswar Reddy- GM, Karaikal Port.

Mr. Rajeswar Reddy, GM – Karaikal Port said that “ The Management  of KPPL will render their support to the people affected by cyclone and CSR wing will help in Relief & Rehabilitation of people in Karaikal and Nagapattinam.”
