Kolkata Port Trust recorded the highest ever container throughput of over 6 lakh TEUs at Kolkata Dock System in the current financial year 2016-17, compared to the previous highest of 5,77,749 TEUs handled in 2015-16.
By the end of the current fiscal, Kolkata Dock System will be able to handle 6,25,000 TEUs.
Incidentally, the container throughput handled by KoPT on March 12, 2017, was the highest ever since the inception of containerization at Kolkata Dock System.
