Rail Cargo Group, a prominent logistics company with headquarters in Austria, has launched a new freight service.

The efficiency of regional trade is increased by this direct route that links Rijeka, Croatia, and Belgrade, Serbia.

The Rail Cargo Group line effectively connects the Adriatic Gate in Rijeka with the Nelt port in Belgrade. 70% of Serbian trade is handled by Rijeka, the busiest port in Croatia. According to RCG, the goal of this direct connection is to streamline transit and facilitate quicker movement of commodities between the two nations.

RCG arranges one or two round-trip tickets every week between Belgrade and Rijeka, which can take up to twenty-four hours each way. The line reduces transit times and offers a dependable, efficient way to move freight across borders.

To increase local operations, Rail Cargo Group made an investment in a carrier company situated in Belgrade in 2023. By strengthening their regional commitment and logistical support, this action increased their Serbian footprint.

RCG established a joint rail-focused freight company in partnership with the Serbian company Transfera. Through operational optimization and service expansion into new markets, this cooperation fortifies RCG’s network throughout Europe.

RCG and Transfera operate a freight route that connects Germany and Serbia via Hungary. Businesses that depend on cross-border logistics benefit greatly from this well-established channel, which supports trade in Central Europe.

Rail Cargo Group hopes to strengthen commercial relations between Serbia and Croatia by establishing a new route between Belgrade and Rijeka.
