Expands client base to 550 spread across FMCG, Beverages, Auto, Food, E-Commerce and large logistic players. LEAP India expects the demand for pallets on lease to go up to 4 million during the current financial year from 3 million deployed currently
LEAP India, a leading supply chain management solutions firm has transformed the way goods are going to be delivered by FMCG, Beverages, Auto, E-commerce, large logistic players and Food companies in the country. LEAP India expects the demand for pallets on lease to go up to 4 million during the year 2020-2021 from 3 million deployed currently.
LEAP network comprises of 22 warehouses, 25 contract manufacturing centers and a team of around 450 employees serving over 550 unique customers at more than 7000 touch points across India. The company has surpassed its largest competitor and has emerged as a leader in number of pallets and FLCs deployed in the country with 70% market share. The company currently has 55,000 foldable large containers (FLCs) deployed across India.
Increasing demand for warehousing from both domestic and international players is driving demand for efficient and international practices of storing and moving goods. Internationally goods are stored and moved with the help of forklifts which drives the demand for storing and transporting goods on pallets.
India has moved well on this front in the last five years, and there is lot more to do in the next decade.
Palletising products can increase operational efficiency, on-time delivery, resulting in more visibility of FMCG, beverage products on the shelves of retail outlets. Till today, in India traditional method of moving goods from factories to shelves with the use of manpower was being used. A truck full of goods requires 14 workers and 3 hours to load in and load off goods. However, palletising requires no additional time for manual handling and considerably less number of workers in the process, hence the hefty 3 hours are reduced to just 30 minutes, which in turn saves a lots of time and effort and saves on additional costs.
Logistics is the key part of any industry. A largely ignored and conventionally-run industry dominated by a number of small players. After the introduction of GST the demand for large warehouses, vertical storage and efficient transportation is taking place in the country.
Commenting on this development Mr. Sunu Mathew, MD, LEAP India said, “Achieving the milestone of 3 million pallets is very encouraging. With this we have become leader in bringing palletisation to the country and are happy to work with each and every leading brand from FMCG, Beverages, Automobiles, Food, E-Commerce, large logistic players etc. in the country. We see enough opportunity in both Pallets and FLCs. We are all geared up to tap this huge opportunity as we are well positioned to expand our pallets base. The company has good number of veterans from logistics and other sectors managing various functions professionally.”
LEAP India has taken a transition from dot net technology to SAP. This new development involves the implementation of an industry-leading Enterprise Resource Planning system to transform business operations, allowing the company to achieve operational excellence, improve productivity, while meeting customers’ expectations. The company is poised to add technology angle in all the departments.
