Of the roughly 470 million tons of energy cargo transshipped through the port of Rotterdam, only 13%, i.e., 62 million tons is to or from Russia. Generally, 30% of Russian crude oil, 25% of LNG, and 20% of oil products and coal from Russia are routed through the Port of Rottterdam. While importers may switch their sourcing locations considering the current volatile situation, but Russian exports being of significant volume are bound to create shortage and drive the prices upwards. Barely 10% of Rotterdam’s container transport is linked to Russia.
