September 24, 2020: Hapag-Lloyd has announced a peak season surcharge (PSS) from Northeast Asia, which comprises China, China/Hong Kong, China/Macau and China/Taiwan, to Sydney, Australia taking effect 23 September (departure date).
The new PSS will be applied to all cargoes as follows:
US$300/20’
US$600/40’
Additionally, the German carrier will increase rates for all cargoes and all container types from East Asia to South America East Coast with effect from 1 October 2020 as follows:
US$700 per Container
French CMA CGM will also implement fresh freight of all kinds (FAK) rates, effective from the same date (date of loading in the origin ports and until further notice but not beyond 14 October), from Asia to North Africa and Mediterranean.
Furthermore, Maersk is introducing a PSS for 40ft reefer containers from China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar, Indonesia, Philippines to ECSA (East Coast South America) countries effective from 15 September 2020.
Last, but not least, MSC has unveiled new charges from India and Pakistan to Europe, which will take effect on 1 October until further notice but not beyond 31 October.
