The Yamuna Authority is planning to invite tenders for the Logistics Park in Tappla-Bajna urban centre by the end of this year, officials said on Sunday.
To be built on the public-private partnership model, Rs 1,079 crore will be spent on the park’s development over 364 acres of land along the Yamuna Expressway.
Tappal is a small city near Jewar, where the Noida international airport is being built, and falls along the Aligarh-Palwal Road in Aligarh district. Bajna is positioned along the Hodal-Hassanpur (Bajna-Aligarh) Road in Mathura district near the Vrindavan intersection of the Yamuna expressway.
Officials of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Authority (YEIDA) said they have directed the consultants, Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India, to prepare the tender documents and concession agreement as the UP government had approved the feasibility-detailed project report (DPR) on September 16.
Envisioned as a storage and warehousing hub, the Multimodal Logistics Park will be built in three phases.
“In the first phase, 205 acres of land that has little to no encroachments will be developed. The concession period of the project will be 40 years,” Authority CEO Arun Vir Singh said. Warehouses will come up on the land. “The site has good transport connectivity, including rail and road in the region,” the DPR had said.
